Welcome Transfer Students! The Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) is here to assist new transfer students with transfer advising questions and concerns. Our goal as academic advisors is to help you through this transition as smoothly as possible. Academic advising is important to your success and progression to graduation.
The following steps and resources will help you as you transition to Lamar University from your previous educational institution.

3. Learn about your new environment
Even though you are a seasoned college student, every university has things that make it unique. Take the time to learn about your major and to understand university expectations, requirements and policies.Information on what needs to be accomplished before your advising session and how to schedule an appointment with your advisor.
At Lamar University, students are required to meet with their advisor at least once a semester before registering for classes.
After you complete the above steps, you are eligible to make your advising appointment.
Juniors and Seniors: Transfer students with 60 or more transferrable college credits will be advised by their academic department. The Find My Advisor page can be used to find out how to contact your advisor.
Freshmen and Sophomores: Transfer students not at Junior or Senior standing, will see an advisor in the Undergraduate Advising Center. To schedule an appointment please call (409) 880-8822.
